Nordic Capital VIII just launched what the call the worlds largest startup by merging companies like Samport, MPS, ePay, DK Online, Key Corp and Euroline into one company called Bambora, focusing on online payments. In the launch-interview with di.se, the CEO of Bambora states that the Nordic region is starting to look like the Silicon Valley of Payments.
This comes as the latest news from a long tradition in digital payments with both veterans like Nets as well as numerous fintech challengers within nearly every field of online and digital payments. Ranging from bank-owned mobile payment solutions like Valyou, Swish and Mobile Pay, stand-alone solutions like mCash and Meewallet, as well as payment-solutions for both online and physical payments like Klarna and iZettle.
